Egypt

Nada in Kansas City, MO.

Meet Nada. Nada is one the of the incredible young girls I had the privilege of counseling over the summer during Awakening Teen Camp in Kansas City. She is 13 years old, has a beautiful & bold passion for Jesus, & is also living right in the midst of all that is occurring in Egypt right now. This is 1 of the letters she sent describing her situation:

"So, we have been having very hard time lately in Egypt
as some of you might know about..since the 25th of January we have been having demonstrations each and every single day and millions of people are participating...so gangsters here in Egypt sneaked in through the crowd and started robbing houses, they also were dressed in police in order to allow people to make them enter their houses to rob, these gangsters also caused lots and lots of fires of big malls, banks and stuff..Police here in Egypt couldn't control the situation at all..so the president allowed the army in the streets to provide safety and protection..as a result police got angry as the country didn't trust them in handling the safety of the country so they too started robbing and they opened all the doors for prisoners to get out of the prisons..so at that time we had gangsters and prisoners everywhere which is terrifying...we Egyptians not army nor police were able to capture 12000 prisoners and gangsters... Egyptians are still making demonstrations which allows gangsters to sneak in...army announced the curfew each and every single day from 3 pm to 8 am the next day...we always hear shootings and shoutings..now Egyptians are all in the streets to be able to find the prisoners...the situation here in Egypt is very unstable..our mobile connections were blocked for a day, internet has been blocked since the 25th but just now it is available..our text messages aren't working still..lots of places here in Egypt are ruined..the Egyptian museum was robbed..bridges are broken and everything is just weird...thousands of gangsters have come from outside the country to take advantage of the great number of people in demonstrations and sneak in.. At most of the times I am not scared but when I hear the shootings or I hear the prisoners coming to our area, I get scared...God has been so good to us..He has been answering each and every prayer request..we as a family anointed our House and we feel God's angels surrounding us making us confident in Him and that our safety is is Him even though it doesn't seem safe at all.. Please pray for us."

When I read this, I hear the story directly from a young girl's view who is living in the midst of such headlining chaos. I do not hear it through biased media, or or from people who have outsider's opinions & information. I hear it from a direct, innocent source. I spent 2 weeks with Nada. We ate together, we played games together, we cried together, we sang together. We prayed together, & now I have the opportunity to be re-united in prayer with her once again. Please pray for her & the conditions in Egypt.
